Essential Oils For Weight Loss

The effectiveness of essential oils for weight loss is unclear. More research is needed to verify the safety and efficacy in human, and the possible benefits and dangers associated with the use of pure essential oils. However, despite the lack of research, there are some promising studies that support the usage of essential oils for weight loss control. In one study, mice were given a high fat diet; however, they were later given a dose of pure Eucalyptus oil. Despite the high fat diet, they did not gain weight.

In another study, overweight adults lost significantly more body mass when consuming a capsule containing curcumin from peppermint, orange, or spearmint essential oils. Curcumin has been found to regulate appetite, enhance energy, and stimulate digestive system activity. Although this study does not directly relate to weight-loss concerns, the ability of the essential oils to stimulate digestive system activity may have some positive effect on overall health and can help those who are struggling with diet and weight issues. This is especially true for those individuals with poor digestion, due to poor colon function.

Stress Eating is a common problem among people today. Many people experience emotional and physical changes due to work, family, and daily life. For some people, it extends to unhealthy food choices, overeating, and physical health problems. Aromatherapy has the ability to address these issues head on by creating a soothing environment. Several essential oils for weight loss are reported to be effective in combating stress eating. Some of these include:

Lavender and Chamomile are two essential oils that are considered to be stress relievers. In addition to their stress relieving abilities, they are known for their calming properties as well. They are both good for aromatherapy purposes because of their ability to soothe and relax the body. The best way to use these two oils in conjunction with each other is through topical application. Topical application is where the essential oils are applied to the skin, often in massages or in facial or body washes.

These two essential oils can also be used in combination to help reduce stress and increase energy. Research has shown that combining these two into a regular routine can increase the likelihood of losing weight in a short amount of time. They can be combined as follows:

Asparagus is one of the most nutritious vegetables available. Because it has the capacity to slow down fat absorption, it can also help suppress cravings for food. Studies show that the burst can help decrease fat and sugar cravings after a meal has been skipped. This is because the bursts contain a chemical called guarana which acts as an appetite suppressant.

If you are interested in using essential oils for weight loss, be sure to use carrier oils. Carrier oils help prevent the absorption of fat into the bloodstream after a certain amount of time. For this reason, they should be taken several hours before eating a meal. The carrier oils that can be used for this purpose include: grape seed, olive, sesame, and sunflower oils. In addition to being used as a carrier oil, these types of oils can also be used in place of butter or oil when cooking.

It is important to note that applying essential oils for weight loss to the skin can cause side effects. To do this safely, dilute the oil with carrier oil like grape seed or sesame oil before applying. Applying a small amount of the essential oils to the skin several times per day, like twice a day, may help increase the effectiveness of the oil. To be safe, wait at least 24 hours before and after washing the body. Using drops of the essential oils for weight loss can be very helpful.
